Good day to all, after several troublesome months I’m faintly back on track on the development of LION, I had to remake a lot of the rigs of the characters after encountering several problems and that has cost me at least a month, I hope it is worth it.
In the mean time I’m making the prototype world to test out exploration and the skills the player will get and combat situations on world, right now I’m focusing in finishing the core Aspect of the game… The Combat system.
For it the main change of the 0.29 Update is the Selection Circle
The selection circle is a Mechanic that is built to accommodate selection using both a Gamepad and a Mouse or cursor built in in the same game, as LION is an RTS as well a new control system must be made to accommodate both of them, the circle also implements new challenges as it limits the selection of troops and the commands of them inside the circle so to command some for the children are out of range the player will have to approach them until are in range of the circle radius and then take the pointer to the location using the Thumb stick or Mouse location.
For the next Update the Full Set of Skill OF the Melee Combat System of Rosamunde Will Be Implemented along side new Foes
Also, several bug fixes have been made:
-The Pause menu appearing on the main menu has been fixed
-The children being destroyed from the game when in tight platforms due excessive translation has been fixed a new method must be implemented later to better showcase this.
-The map huge Zoom I the game has been fixed
-Rosamunde cloth armor is destroyed when her life points reach close to 0
-A new collision system less taxing for the game has been implemented, everything should be more responsive now
-This fixes the loss of collision detection that took pace in the game several times especially with upgrades
-The Bridge doge now causes a bounce on the walls allowing for extra platforming techniques, this was discovered after a bug.
-The Rigs of the children and Rosamunde where remade after certain considerations, now clothing and animations and other related elements will work better.
-The controls have been redesigned, although Gamepad implementation is still missing, the PC Controls where remade and remapped for better control, a new image explaining the controls appears on the pause menu.
-The Selection System was also Changed to instead of detecting in a small point will detect on the circle area set by the pointer allowing for a more forgiving and flexible selection system
-The Pointer distance also causes the camera to go far away for allowing More open and tactical view of the area specially in intense battles.
